We are a group of brazilian authors and illustrators who created a fictional futuristic universe called Era do Caos (Age of Chaos).

What are RPGs?

RPG means ROLE-PLAYING GAME. It is a game in which you create a character and live (through it) a story. In this story, you are free to decide what your character do, or does not do.
Three things constitute a RPG: The setting, the characters and the rules system. The setting is where the stories will take place. It can be an historical setting like the World War II, semi-historical like Robin Hood, or totally fictional like a fantasy setting with elves and dragons.; The characters are created in accordance with the setting. A gunfighter would be out of place in the Middle Ages. The players will create their characters and one person, the GameMaster (or Storyteller), will create the elements of the story (events, plot, secondary characters, villains, challenges) and coordinate the game session; The rules system are the game rules. They are designed to decide if your character was succesfull or not when he/she tried to do something. Example: sneak around the guards when you are invading the bad guys fortress.
In a RPG, there are not winners or loosers, the players do not compete against each other or against the GameMaster. The purpose of the game is to have fun while you play a story with your friends. This, in a nutshell, is a RPG.

Era do Caos (Age of Chaos)
This book takes us to the early XXIst century, when the dark predictions of the Apocalypse did not come true, but neither did the utopies of the Age of Aquarius.
This first book explains the setting of the game and presents a generic rules system, placing emphasis in the human characters, the chaotic and technologically advanced society and the plots of an Elite that manipulates the information available and the elections.

Noturnos (Nocturnes)
This is the first suplement for Age of Chaos. The characters are beings that returned from the dead. They are the spectres and Reborns, bound to life through heavy chains of destiny. The spectres are ghosts that refused to enter the tunnel of light, and remain on the Land of the Living, most of the time unseen and unnoticed. The Reborns are people risen from the grave through a desire of vengeance, the arts of a necromancer or...by accident (?): Avengers; Zombies or Rebels; Jokers.
The nocturnes have supernatural powers and inspire terror in the living beings. Spectres feed on emotions and reborns on life-force.

Lendas (Legends)
In this suplement the characters are spirits of the earth that fight for the survival of the forests and waters, with which they are connected. They are brazillian and south american legends: Iara, a mermaid that can take human form and protects the rivers and seas ; Boto (Dolphin) a man that changes into a dolphin and is irresistible to womem, he also protects the rivers and seas; Curupira, a human with inverted feet that protect the forests and controls animals. He or she has the power of illusion and shapeshift; Kanaima, a human whose body was invaded by the spirit of a jaguar and now has the capacity to change forms between human, jaguar and a feral half-form, but the kanaima must fight to retain his or her humanity.

Caídos (Fallen)
In this suplement the characters are fallen angels. In the Great War, they refused to take sides and did not fight along Michael or Sammael. Since they could not decide if they favored or not mankind’s creation, tey were sentenced to live on Earth as humans. They have human bodies and supernatural powers, when they die, they don’t go Heaven but return to Earth as children. Their purpose is to find redemption and, in the meantime, fight the sammaelites.
The fallen organize themselves in brotherhoods: Paladins; Samaritans; Hierophants; Hedonists; Judges; Wanderers.

Feiticeiros (Sorcerers)
In this suplement the characters are normal human beings that control the forces of nature. In another words, they make magic. The Sorcerers belong to several traditions of magic around the world, using rituals and amulets to cast their spells. They act lonely or organize themselves in Orders. The Orders shown in the suplement are: Order of the Eternal Dawn (ocult science); Sisterhood of the Moon (witchcraft and goddes cult); Necromancers (ditto); Cult of Isis (egyptian magic); Jurupari (native brazilian magic); Roots (afro-brazilian magic); Order of Hecate (manga, anime, comics, tv shows).
